Football in Africa……Our Supporters!
In Africa football is a way of life! So is the support and passion for the game in the neighbouring Mandela Village to Kekana Gardens!
The St Camulius Primary School foot ball field, next to Mandela Village, host football matches every Saturday and Sunday. The “game of hope” has a positive contribution to the youth living in our community. Kwalata can arrange friendly matches with local teams at local football fields during your stay in Africa!

Football – Young-Bucks Team
Team is based in Kekana Gardens next to Kwalata. They consist of school kids that former their own club.Football plays a mayor roll in youth development. The game ensures the development of life skills, discipline and team work.This young team has great potential and is driven by the passion for the game!

Cosmos Football Club
Hammanskraal Cosmos Football Club was found in 1980 in a farm area called Klipdrift. In 1990 there was a migration of families from farm areas to informal settlement named Mandela Village. Cosmos won the Hammanskraal League Tournament in 1997 and this boosted the Football Association. Currently the Club consist of the following Divisions:
The club hosts 4 teams U/15; U17; U19; and the senior team. All in the entire club has the total of 60 players plus 07 Executive members. All along assistance has been provided by Kwalata and National Lottery in terms of sports wear and team development.
This club is a home grown success story that has transformed many youth to become self motivated adults.

Fan Jan Primary School
Kwalata assisted the Fan Jan Primary school in community, Kekana Gardens / Steve Bikoville, next to Kwalata in having a new (the school's first) soccer field graded. On the 3rd of December 2009 the kids played their first match! FNB donated 2 foot balls for this occasion.

ROLLER SKATING
The Hammanskraal Roller Skating club was formed in 1999 and has been actively participating in the provincial and national championships annually. The club has a membership of more than 50 skaters but with assistance it can be much more. The skaters are mainly form Mandela Village and Renstown. The skaters are not financially capable to contribute to the club and therefore the development of the club is not what it can be.
The Hammanskraal skaters have performed very well in championship both provincially and Nationally. The club has already delivered 5 skaters who were selected for the South African National team and participated in World Championship. One of the skaters already represented our country at 4 world championships – Korea in 2006, Colombia in 2007, Spain 2008 and China 2009.
